Final Reflection

2. The most formative experience had to be the first set of interviews because it gave me a lot of insight and gave me quite a good challenge as a new student in the class. The experience I will remember for years to come was definitely the first elevator pitch since I had never done one before. I liked the interview process the most for sure. I am most proud of my venture concept.

3. I have always seen myself as an entrepreneur, however, this class has definitely brought out my strengths and shown my weaknesses as well. I would like to continue with the structure the class offers in my ideas and projects for the future.

4. Consistency is the key to all success. Being consistent will out beat anyone who works hard for a short period of time. Stay on a calendar and do everything before the due date. The best thing to do is pray and have faith in not a god, but yourself!!

Me and my idol in the fitness community Rich Piana who passes away... RIP!

2. I pretty much got positive feedback everyone gave me positive feedback and said how fluid and good I knew about my project. People liked the idea of me carrying on the business for future family members and helping them propel into further success. Like I mentioned no one really gave me any changes to the stuff I put up, I thought really hard about my responses and they made the most sense.

3. I added a little bit to the portion of opportunity based on new ideas I came up with. I also added a little bit of info regarding the marketing of the name of my product "Tester".

4.
Me and a friend of mine Andre who helped me come up with the idea

Last reading

he Long Tail: Why the Future of Business is Selling Less of More, Chris Anderson
1. The theme of the book is about how the growing users of internet content have helped the "tail gets longer" in the world of small business and entrepreneurship. Anderson states that the more markets you hit with smaller more closely niched audiences the better off your business will do.
2. The way I tied reading this book to this class is my marketing strategy for Tester the all-natural pro-hormone. Taking into considerations avenues like powerlifting and strongman.
3. I would try to incorporate how these reads helped inspired ideas for students, for example in the book by XYZ I used this strategy and applied it to ABC.
4. I learned the importance of market content and market penetration.

Exit Strategy

1. I actually don't plan on selling my company, I love fitness/ bodybuilding and have made it my passion. Many people hate on me including my "friends" and family but I love doing what I do. It is so much rewarding living a lifestyle you enjoy than being something that you don't want to do like an accountant ( I am an accounting major lol). If my kids like fitness they are more than welcome then helping grow the product line.
2. I selected this because I love fitness and bodybuilding it is my life.
3. It hasn't really influenced anything about my plan, I know that the market is free and open in this area of supplements, while the supplement industry is saturated, this is a new and exciting market. I know business from my emotions!

Celebrating Failure

This semester I utilized my time at home to keep growing my social media accounts oldschoolmatt on Instagram. I dedicated the entire summer to getting into the best shape I have ever been in by adding 25 pounds of muscle in 3 months. I reached my goal and did so very well. After this weight gain, I wanted to get down to lose the fat and keep the muscle I gained. However, over the past three weeks due to school, I haven't been to the gym. The thing I learned about this is that consistency is the number one best option to attaining your future goals. Even if you're not going 100 percent it is better to still put in some work. Failure and embarrassment are the two hardest pills to swallow. I have failed many times in my life and it is super emotionally draining. However, you can't dwell on failure, you can't let it eat you up because then you lost the war. This class has helped me realize failure is just another part of the process.

Whats Next?

Existing market-
New products maybe include a protein powder or a creatine supplement.
Moises Torres- NPC Bodybuilding
Gucci Bambino-NPC Athlete
Jamie Kendal- Mens Physique

Many of them are familiar with the market. Furthermore, they like the idea of protein or creatine but feel like the supplement market is very saturated and that it might fail. Jamie loves trying new protein powder out.

What makes the most sense in boost 1 up nutrition is to start all-natural protein powder that will yield the highest protein per gram. Many other protein powders don't hold high yields of protein like boost 1 up nutritions will. Furthermore, I plan on creating an amazing flavor profile that uses artificial sweeteners to keep the sugar and carbs low.

This market delivers high rewards and low cost of goods due to the fact that it provides large quantities of purchase.

New Market-
Athletes

This product can be for athletes in untested organizations.

Jacob Torres Club VolleyBall UCF
Patricio Perez Club Tenis at USC

They both would like to try the product as long as they did not gain "too much muscle".

The thing I learned about this market was that it is very big and not introduced to this type of product. Tester can be used to benefit any athlete. In fact, it can be used to help boost performance in most sports.
Over time and time again I was able to see that this product is very versatile.

What makes you so special

1. Funding
I have good funding for my product, not many companies get funding like this. Money is a hard resource to come across.

I have a work effort that outworks anyone else. Effort builds character
4. Social Activity
I am a very social being in a work place setting. This will set me apart from others.
5. Determination
I am determined to make my product great. Many companies fall short in pushing product.

8. Ability to network
I have a great network in the fitness industry. To find these leads takes lots of time and effort.
9. Marketing
I have been able to be lead marketing director in all the companies I work for. Marketing is what makes or breaks a business.

Bring in second opinion

  • The Art of Social Media: Power Tips for Power Users, Guy Kawasaki

1. The general theme surrounded how the day and age theme of social media marketing has taken over traditional marketing tactics. It shows how the world of traditional marketing has switched to a digital platform.
2. The way it tied to this class was that it showed me how I can use similar tactics to achieve the same goal with boost 1 up nutrition.
3. I would try to make an exercise that kids can use to interact with the book they used with their idea. For example, when reading this book I wanted to do XYZ with my business and why.
4. I learned that there is an actual strategy to social media marketing rather than just doing it.

Second Shot at Idea Napkin No. 2

1. I am Matthew Nguyen a third-year accounting student at the University of Florida. My skills include sales, people skills, working out, understanding the body and diet. My aspirations are to become a successful business owner in the fitness industry whether that be in the supplement field or not. It would definitely take over my life, I am very obsessive over the things I love.
2. I am offering an all-natural prohormone that will offer the best alternative to using ban substances prohormones. Customers are scared to use substances that can be harmful to their body.
3. My customers all have in common the desire to continue to forward in their lifting/fighting/athletic career. The thing they all have in common is the desire to try a performance-enhancing supplement that does not have properties of anabolic steroids.
4. They will pay me money because my prohormone is the ONLY prohormone that uses natural substances and that does not play with the derivatives of steroids. We also use the best herbal compounds that naturally active in the human body when ingested.
5. What sets us apart from other companies is that we deliver the best quality product in terms of health and performance. We have a product that offers a variety of hormonal boosting compounds from herbal to chemically compounded.

I believe that all the aspects of the business fit together. There is no weak link other than product knowledge since prohormones are a new and emerging market. Furthermore, the ability for the customers to always see progress is a great seller. The product sells itself to my target market and is a great alternative to the banned substances that they know and love.

The feedback that I got helped me shape my Napkin more centered around the core values of the business. Rather than just speaking on other elements I decided to cut right to the chase and talk about core benefits. Furthermore, I was able to talk about my customers and their needs more, I felt that I didn't elaborate on this much on the first idea Napkin. My napkin seems more fit for the idea this time around and making it more concise cutting out filler made it more effective.

Create your own avatar

This is Jared the Gym Goer. Jared has been going to the gym for the past ten years and has reached his natural potential in the gym. He has competed at the natural level for NPC in bodybuilding in men's physique. Jared missed his wife's birthday dinner because he had to do legs. Jared is 28 years old and is a "young entrepreneur", Jared doesn't have any kids because he aspires to be Mr. Olympia. I have a lot in common with Jared but I don't let the gym run my life. Jared has been like me because I made this product for people in the gym similar to me or similar to my pride for a contact/physique sport.

3.

How I see myself is very similar to how people see me. I have a very distinct personality and it shows. I try to make sure I am the best at what I do and I do things the way that I have put thought into being done. Each of the interviews was pretty spot on and I believe distinct myself from others by showing my potential human capital. No, I wouldn't make any changes to the list, it is definitely who I am especially after hearing from the interviews.

Evaluating How Your Customers Evaluate Stuff

1.
Alex Duenas NPC Bodybuilder
Lawerence Gensoli Advanced gym goer
Derek Lunsford IFBB Pro Bodybuilder

3. It seems that in the alternative search each one of them chose the product that had the higher quality ingredients vs the cheaper price or style. One thing that Lawerence said that differed from Alex and Derek is that he does value a brand of a company for supplements equally to the quality of the product. Neither of them said the price mattered because they are all worried about the best product rather than cheapest because of the immense commitment taking a Pro Hormone is. Other than that they all seemed to have a general opinion that value matters when taking a Pro Hormone.
4. Most supplements are now ordered directly from the source and online. Out of the three interviewed they all buy their supplements from online companies. Typically brick and mortar supplement shops upcharge prices for the product. They all buy using a debit card. There is only one person responsible for the purchase and that is the buyer.
5. All of the interviewees had in common that results were the number one thing that they wanted from the product. The amount of fat burned and lean muscle tissue during one full serving cycle is what I found mattered the most, secondly the least amount of side effects. Out of the three interviewed, two interviewees had bad experiences with side effects from the Pro Hormone.
6. After all, each interview went well, Alex seemed to be a fan of prohormones and uses them regularly when getting ready for his shows. Lawerence has been on the fence about taking a prohormone but has been worried about the recent banning of certain formulas. I talked to Lawerence the most about my idea and he likes it a lot.
7. This segment seems to look for the best quality product, put a lot of effort in making a decision, and seem to have the best sense of buying attitude when seeing adequate results.

Tenacity and Paying it forward

1. Some behaviors I have developed from this course is being a smarter and more diligent worker. It has helped me keep a steady path on a certain goal. I have been more diligent about posting the assignments when needed to be done and have made more of an effort to be a better "business" owner. I definitely have gotten the taste of the entrepreneurial lifestyle from these 6 weeks.
2. A lot of research on Pro Hormones is often sheltered and hidden, however, when doing I was able to find ways of taking breaks to help me reach my goal. At the time I spent over 3-4 hours on certain aspects of the discussion but when finding the information I needed to do it was so satisfying. Furthermore, I felt that I learned a lot about my work formula in these past two months and weekly assignments have helped keep on track tremendously.
3.
1. Stay consistent and updated throughout your process.
2. Always keep motivated by looking at the bigger picture.
3. Remain calm if things aren't going your way.

Reading Reflection

Steve Jobs, Walter Isaacson

1.
What surprised me the most was Steve Jobs story and how he was raised without his adopted parents. Someone who grew up relatively poor was and is one of the richest men to ever grace this planet.
I admired his ability to get up when he was knocked down like rocky says, it's not about how hard your hit its how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward, how much you can take and keep moving forward. Something I didn't really think was cool is that some of Steves early friends I felt were left out of the picture in his future endeavors. Yes, one of his biggest failures was getting kicked out his OWN company Apple after the board of directors bought him over.
2.
One thing Steve Jobs did was never limit himself he was learned new avenues in his field such as getting involved with Pixar for motion picture development.
3.
One part that was confusing to me was the whole idea of the shares and the stocks of the company, I don't get the legality of someone buying you out of YOUR business.
4.
How do you manage to tackle tasks when you have forces against you besides the tasks forces?
How do you see the world outside of your passion, does it affect your work ethic in the field?
5.
I think if Steve were to answer this question he would say it is doing what you love but also challenging yourself every day.

Figuring out buyer behavior

1- Segment
Active students/ young adult demographic
2-
Noah Richman- Amateur bodybuilder
Aaron Arraez- Prospected IFBB professional bodybuilder
Aimee Kaufman- Mixed Martial Arts fighter

4-
According to my interviews, Noah Richman is someone to use the word of mouth technique to get his information, he told me he looks to people like myself and others that are knowledgable and trusts them.
Aaron Arraez was a little different he liked to make sure his sources were valid and on point. He was secure in finding information out on the internet and backed studies.
Aimee Kaufman was a little bit of both, though she sided on the side on using credible online or scholarly sources to find here information.
5-
What I have found out from these three interviews is that this topic, prohormones, since it is so new it is still a new area for development was open for customers to learn. A lot of the information on supplements, specifically pro-hormones were not credible and was told by he say she say. Which is great because when compiling evidence I am able to tell others the importance of not using these new dangerous compounds. The biggest thing I learned from these interviews was how people thought of pro-hormones and the somewhat scared mindset about them because of the recent banning of certain substances that companies carelessly keep using.
6-
I would say that their information search was somewhat low but open, they want to know more but they can't because the market is new but saturated.

Idea Napkin

You-
I am a student at UF joining his third year at the school in the school of accounting. But who really am I? I love fitness and am a natural bodybuilding advocate. I have many talents but product innovation, especially in fitness, seems to be one that fits best in this scenario. I like to think of my talents are sales, marketing, and overall innovation. Most of my skills are in speaking publicly and making great relations. My aspirations are to be able to be in charge of the biggest supplement company in the bodybuilding industry as well as taking myself to the next level in helping others achieve their fitness and life goals. This product can be the foot in the door for me in the industry.

What-
I am offering the first pro-hormone/ performance enhancing supplement with all natural testosterone boosters/ ergogenic fat burners, as well as offering chemically compounded approved pro-hormone modulators. To many times customers are taking pro-hormones that have compounds that are "kind of" legal and new that are harmful and get banned within 1-2 years.
Who-
My target customers are male/female experienced gym goers between the ages of 18-50 that want to help boost their performance by not taking any illegal PED. These people may include pro/amateur bodybuilders, athletes, boxers/fighters, casual gym goers, and extreme fitness users.
Why-
The reason why customers would pay me money is that our product takes all compounds/ substances that are not banned/ prohibited by ANY government agency, and allows users to have friendly doses that will compete with other brands. Furthermore, when combining natural PE substances with chemically compounded PE it may cause a synergistic effect something that few to little companies have done research in.
Core Competencies-
We have a pro-hormone that will never be banned by the FDA.

I believe these elements all fit together because as I was writing them I seemed to start answering the next question before I got there. Furthermore, I think that the people that I am trying to sell to will understand the issue at hand with other companies and feel like they have to use them because there is no alternative. I think that the demographic and the core purpose of the product go hand in hand because these are issues that these people face when making a decision on this type of supplement that is still new to the market and exciting!

Elevator Pitch

This is my elevator pitch for my natural prohormone substance that I will call boost 1 up.

Posted by Matthew Nguyen at 8:45 PM 8 comments:
Email ThisBlogThis!Share to XShare to FacebookShare to Pinterest

Continuing opportunity research

I have decided to interview 5 people who I feel have this unmet need and I see potential in asking them about their experience with certain supplements. I decided to interview this time my friend Patricio Pinedo who is a natural men's physique competitor, PJ Braun the CEO of Blackstone labs a company that makes prohormones, my friend Stephan Smith who is someone who uses PED, an amateur MMA fighter Eyventon James, and my friend Kasey Montrois a fitness model. The general consensus I got out of them is that the reason they are afraid to take pro-hormones is that EVERY prohormone on the market utilizes at least one newer compound that usually gets banned or a derivative of it gets banned within 1-2 years. Eyventon who is an amateur fighter learned the hard way when he got tested for these hormones and lost a bout because he was unable to pass his drug test. Pj Braun the owner of Blackstone labs says they try to come out with the best products therefore they take risks by adding new and creative hormone derivatives. Another general idea I got from each and everyone from the interview was that they all were willing to take or buy a supplement that is LEGAL and that will remain LEGAL as long as it helps them in a performance-enhancing manner.
The answer to the who question is simple. There are businesses that are within my opportunity realm but also take themselves outside of it because they experiment with borderline illegal substances. Also, some pro-hormones fall closer to recovery aides for certain steroidal needs. For example as therapy when taking real anabolic steroids some prohormone companies offer products that help reduce side effects then instead boost performance. The reason is, is that the market is still new (4-5 years) and the waters are still being tested.
The reason my product would differ from others is that I would not fathom into newer derivatives of these compounds and furthermore, I would like to utilize natural herbs as well compounded into the formula to help benefit the individual further rather than just taking chemically compounded P.E molecules.
The reason why outsides might have different needs is due to their time commitment in the gym. Some people don't want to maximize their potential muscle mass or be at their peak athletic performance.

Inside the boundaryOutside the boundary
Bodybuilders, Fitness lifestylers, gym goers, athletesNon-Gym Goers, Casual Gym Goers
To enhance body composition and performanceWhat the Need Is Not
It is a great way to push the body past its limits/ Natural limit. There is no reason to push the body that far, there is no natural limit

Solving the problem

The easy fix to the issue with prohormones in the supplement industry is to take compounds that have been tested and legal by the FDA and to do more research on them. Furthermore, using compounds that have proven to increase performance it will be easier to mix them together with other compounds that work as well in order to provide a quality product. Instead of using newer emerging compounds mixed with old ones, find the old ones that are legal and safe, and use those.
These are the list of current prohormones that are legal according to
https://bluecloud.org/prohormones/
  • 1-Androsterone (1-DHEA or 1-androstene-3b-ol-17-one)
  • 4-Androsterone (4-DHEA or 4-androstene-3b-ol-17-one)
  • Epiandrosterone (Epi-Andro)
  • 1,4-OHP
  • 6-Keto-progesterone
Of these prohormones, 1-2 compounds can be mixed together to produce a great product. But where does this differ from other companies? Well, what I think would be a great solution is to add natural ergogenic and lipogenic agents to help produce top quality results.
Some of these can include
- Yohimbine
-Tongkat Ali
- Deer Antler Velvet
- D-aspartic acid
The list goes on. This way the product customers use will stay consistent and not change due to re-regulation of certain compounds. Use the stuff that is known to work and that will stay legal to provide a safer more marketable product to bodybuilders and endurance athletes.

You have an opportunity, what now?

1. Prohormones and the fitness industry
2. Prohormone supplement companies are having trouble finding a formula that is not being banned by the FDA in yearly audits due to illegal substances/dosages, this happens because these companies refuse to change their formula by finding new chemicals/herbal ingredients. Instead, they change the chemical by its structure and reformulate that way
3. A large opportunity for market penetration in the supplement industry is available because prohormones on the market get banned within 1-2 years of use due to FDA's audits for bad formulas this can be changed by using pre-existing compounds that are legal and combining them with herbal substances.
4. I interviewed 5 people who included, my girlfriend Aimee someone who has no interest in prohormones. My sister who is an avid competitor who does not use prohormones. My friend Noah Richman who uses prohormones. My friend Lawerence who is a competitor who uses prohormones. Also, a local business owner of a supplement store that sells prohormones, Cole. All of the general consensuses that I got from these people was the validity of having a product that was FDA approved. Many supplement companies don't have FDA approved products, furthermore, when having a prohormone which would be borderline pharmaceutical it would be a huge plus to go through them rather than avoid them. The consensus I got from the users of the prohormones was that they felt like the industry was shaky because they constantly would get rebranded prohormones from the same company but they had to change their formula. I got a general understanding that prohormones get bad reputations because they get rejected by the FDA, however, if the prohormones got a good reputation many people can benefit from their neurogenic effects.
5. After my interviews, I got an understanding of how people felt about this topic and how safety and validity was a top priority. I always thought this to be true.

Identifying opportunities in the economic and regulatory trends

Economic

b. This article shows how the personal training industry has over 100,000 per person in it and has shown huge growth in the past few years.
c. This is a service based industry so a customer will be someone who wants to get trained or someone who is referred.
d. I think this opportunity is easy to exploit because of how easy it is to enter the market. Furthermore, there are a lot of different avenues to differentiate yourself in the market.
Why?
The reason I saw this opportunity is that I am emersed in this industry and have seen so many people come up the rankings to be the best personal trainer of a region with ease.
2.
a.https://www.wsj.com/articles/consumers-love-food-delivery-restaurants-and-grocers-hate-it-11552107610
b. This article shows how the market for food delivery has grown in the past 10 years, consumers have started to like the idea of instant food especially with the introduction of computer generated software for applications such as Uber Eats.
c. This is a service based industry so a customer will be someone who wants to have easily accessible food or delicious fast food. Most customers will be prior food enthusiasts.
d. This opportunity is hard to exploit since it is run by a few bigger named apps making the barrier to entry tough.
Why?
With the growing popularity of on the go e-marketplaces such as e-commerce clothes and such, food is the next "on the go" e market place.
Regulatory-

d. This is an easier market to get into because of regulations, once there is a set amount of dosages that FDA deems as a minimum CBD products' with higher dosages or more effective dosages will do better.
Why?
With the new market of CBD regulations will set the standard of which is good and bad products bringing back a correction of establishment in the market of market shares.

b. I found in this article the changing market of prohormones which are derivatives of PED, each year the FDA comes out with new regulations and is changing the way prohormone formulas can be dosed and which compounds are deemed acceptable.
c. This is a product based industry because of the product benefit analysis being the highest yield of consumer importance. Gym goers and bodybuilders love prohormones because they are not considered anabolic steroids but mimic the results.
d. This is an easier market to hit because the regulations are always changing and companies have to reformulate the product to fit FDA approved lists.
Why?
Many supplement companies have switched from traditional protein powders and fat burners to invest in new compounds and herbal supplements to help benefit their product line.

Identifying Local Opportunities

  • The title of the article
  • The link to the article.
  • A description of the story, in your own words
  • A description of the problem presented in the story
  • A description of who has the problem

1.
- Under new rules, Miami Beach has a quieter Memorial Day weekend
-https://infoweb-newsbank-com.lp.hscl.ufl.edu/apps/news/document-view?p=WORLDNEWS&t=pubname%3AMIHB%21Miami%2BHerald%252C%2BThe%2B%2528FL%2529/year%3A2019%212019/mody%3A0527%21May%2B27&f=advanced&action=browse&format=text&docref=news/173B2AD052C79248
- Over memorial day weekend miami tested new party regulations to keep the city free of crime during public holidays. However, promoters of bars and clubs were upset because they were restricted to the events they could hold on memorial day. Especially if the events had no-cap for people in the entrance and for drinks. Overall, Memorial Day was "safer" in Miami via the reports made compared to last years Memorial Day.
- The problem is that club/bar promoters are having more trouble with the regulations and the time constraints put under them by the city of Miami during big events. They are losing money and people aren't having as much fun. Regulations set after 2019 spring break caused event holders to be limited by the amount of people and amount of drink held events during the year.
- The promoters of clubs/bars are losing money because they can't offer promotions and good events with liquor.

2.
-Florida keys- Man was catching lobster in the Keys- and there was a problem with that, cops say
-https://infoweb-newsbank-com.lp.hscl.ufl.edu/apps/news/document-view?p=WORLDNEWS&t=pubname%3AMIHB%21Miami%2BHerald%252C%2BThe%2B%2528FL%2529/year%3A2019%212019/mody%3A0526%21May%2B26&f=advanced&action=browse&format=text&docref=news/173B2AA074F7FB78
- A man in the keys was fishing under a bridge and keep undersized fish and lobster out of season. He was heavily fined and given a court date. The man did not know what the issue was.
- The problem is that fisherman in Florida sometimes get confused with regulations as people switch areas, for example Miami to the Florida Keys regulations change from fish to fish. Regulations chnage from area to area and fisherman are not informed.
- Fisherman all over Florida are granted different regulations through different regions and get confused, through this they get punished with big fines and possible jail times.

3.
- These portable speakers can explode. More than 40,000 have been recalled.
- https://infoweb-newsbank-com.lp.hscl.ufl.edu/apps/news/document-view?p=WORLDNEWS&t=pubname%3AMIHB%21Miami%2BHerald%252C%2BThe%2B%2528FL%2529/year%3A2019%212019/mody%3A0524%21May%2B24&f=advanced&action=browse&format=text&docref=news/173A115467831CC0
- ION Audio had a recall from their speakers because of the battery that was manufactured in china overseas. Over 5 cases has occured and the speakers are being recalled all over Miami.
- The problem is that these portable speakers are being recalled due to poor manufacturing done to 41,000 units. This recall is effective on all products.
- The people with the issue is ION audio because they decided to get cheaper manufactures and it defintely showed. They have the issues with this product line and it disrupts their reputation.
4.
- If you ate at this Palm Beach restaurant you may have hepatitis A, health department says.
- https://infoweb-newsbank-com.lp.hscl.ufl.edu/apps/news/document-view?p=WORLDNEWS&t=pubname%3AMIHB%21Miami%2BHerald%252C%2BThe%2B%2528FL%2529/year%3A2019%212019/mody%3A0523%21May%2B23&f=advanced&action=browse&format=text&docref=news/173A2DB04E5966A0
- An employee at Copper's Hawk Winery & Restaurant had hepatitis A, and has possibly spread the disease to those who have worked/ dined there. Florida Health Department is recommending anyone who ate or worked there to get an vacination as soon as possible.
- The problem is that Copper's Hawk Winery & Restaurant did not do a through backround check by their employees and have now a huge issue at their hand. This disease has spread by 44 percent in the last year according to the article.
- The people who have the problem is Copper's Hawk Winery & Restaurant because they are getting bad pubilicty and is now seen as a place that had a life threatening disease.
5.
- Theme parks have more visitors than ever. It's no suprise they have long lines, too.
- https://infoweb-newsbank-com.lp.hscl.ufl.edu/apps/news/document-view?p=WORLDNEWS&t=pubname%3AMIHB%21Miami%2BHerald%252C%2BThe%2B%2528FL%2529/year%3A2019%212019/mody%3A0523%21May%2B23&f=advanced&action=browse&format=text&docref=news/173A2DB1126D8F50
-  The article talked about the increase in attendance of theme parks. However, the over attendance has caused fans to be annoyed by the long lines.
-The problem is that since the attendance has grown so much in the past 3 years that has caused people to wait in line longer than usual.
- The people who have the problem are the fans because they have to wait long.

Forming An Opportunity Belief

I have a belief that an opportunity exists in the industry of food freshness. Especially in the realm of bodybuilding where people bring their meals with them throughout the day.
The unmet need I am speaking of is keeping the nutrient's alive and fresh in meal prepped food. This is a huge need in the bodybuilding world. This need is something that people would love to have that's why so many people cheat on their diet because they hate eating their prepped foods because of taste. The way they cope with this is simply eating out and skipping their prepped meal.
Interview Transcript 1-
Connor Vaughn Regular gym goer
Matthew- Hey Connor how are you?
Connor- Good brotha how are you?
M- Good, I just wanted to sit down and talk about the food you have in your container.
C- Oh yea I am on a keto diet right now it sucks.
M-Yea . , so question I wanna ask is how hard is it for you to be on this diet?
C- It's tough man I usually want to eat more food but I am so limited to what I can have.
M- Yea I get that, do you think the taste of the food might be straying you away as well?
C- Well, yea at times I have to eat out because my food just goes bad sitting around the car and s*** while I work.
M- Thats an issue I have been seeing a lot in the bodybuilding world. I wanna ask do you think that if your food was always fresh it would be easier to eat?
C- Yea it could help, because whenever I don't prep the chicken and veggies I have don't taste that bad.
M- Almost like eating out right? I think the reason people eat out is because the food is fresh but what if we could make that happen with your prepped meals?
C- That seems awesome man.
M- How long have you had struggles with being on this diet?
C- Probably since the beginning of it, I suffered through it at first but I find myself cheating more and more.
M- That's the problem we all have is being able to stick to it for long periods of time, how do you enjoy the food though, you like eating healthy vs unhealthy.
C- Yea I enjoy the thought of it but it just sucks when its either bland or cold.
M- You are right!
C- Alright brother I got to go .
Interview Transcript 2-
Noah Richman NPC qualified bodybuilder
Matthew- Yo whats up noah wanted to ask you a quick question or two
Noah- whats up
M- How is your diet going?
N- Well I am not on a diet right now, but a diet is a diet.
M- Same here, don't you hate when your food is so bland?
N- Yes I do it sucks, I honestly can't eat cold or bland food thats why I usually just eat out and cheat on my diet.
M- Ya thats the common thing I am hearing among people. Do you think most bodybuilders are like this?
N- No I am just a lazy one haha, but most people in the fitness industry probably would agree with me. I like to cheat on my diet a lot by eating fast food because it tastes good.
M- What about eating your meals fresh?
N-Yea I like eating them fresh and flavor full the problem is when you prep chicken and leave it in the fridge for days then eat it dry it tastes horrible.
M- So if you could eat your meals fresh everyday you wouldn't cheat on your diet?
N-Well I am super unmotivated sometimes anyways because of all the stress I have in my life, I do artistic dancing on the side and sometimes like to cycle. Bodybuilding has really let me down so I don't know.
M- But lets say there was something that made your food taste fresh and hot 24/7 would you like it?
N- Yea that would be cool I would like that.
M- Well thanks Noah!
N- NO problem matt!
Interview Transcript 3-
Lauren Nguyen Prospective IFBB PRO Bikini
M- Hey young tee
L- Hi matt
M- Can I ask you some questions about your prep?
L- Sure
M- How do you feel eating the same foods poor and bland all the time.
L- I honestly don't mind it. But i am very different 99 percent of people like their food fresh
M- Oh I am part of that 99 percent. If there was a way to make your prepped food fresh you wouldn't enjoy that?
L- I mean I would but it's not an issue for me.
M- What are some issues about prepped food you think?
L- For me, like I said I don't care I am more focused on going professional than anything.
M- What about for people in general what do you think?
L- Yea forsure my bestfriend loves to always make her food fresh she never preps.
M- Yea thats what I thought, you think people would stick to their diet more if their food was prepped fresh or tasted fresh?
L- Oh forsure taste is everything, but hey I got go.
M-Okay!
I think that there is still a big market for my problem the responses I got were similar to my mindset about things. There might be another opportunity in the realm of fast-casual restaurants that offer macronutrient friendly food. I think a good medium is important, I think the root should stay the same but maybe the approach should differ.

My entrepreneurship experience.

I have been an "entrepreneur" for life. I don't really like coining the term because everyone can be an entrepreneur if they put the effort to be. I first realized that I loved this path because when I was young I was always rethinking challenges and going against the norm. I never lived a normal life, its always been crazy. I myself have realized how important small things were and finding a path to making things better was the way I thought of things. And only when I gave into temptation did I want to do whatever one else was doing, I always knew I was different.
My entrepreneurship story I wanted to share was how I got involved with a startup cold brew company called BRIO. I organically met them through social media and started up as an influencer, and slowly started working with the small owner team of two to become head of sales in South Florida. I got to get accustomed to the owners very well and I learned a lot about business from them. The biggest thing I learned was the true grit that they give towards their craft. Working for them as their third employee has put a huge responsibility on myself making it a big responsibility I had never owned before. This not only helped me in my business mindset but also in life, in general, I have gotten a lot better with time management and other life tasks.

I enrolled in ENT 3003 because it is required for IA. However, I see myself starting my own business one day and being able to be in a class like this will help me succeed in the future! I expect to learn about ideas and creativity and making it into a real-life solution.

Bugs

Every day we live with issues that surround us.
Here is my bug list.
1. Mosquito's are plentiful in South Florida during the summer.
Why are there mosquitos? They spawn in warm weather.
2. Hard to fall asleep when you know you are constrained to a time to wake up.
Why is it hard to sleep? Anxiety builds up from knowing that you don't have a wake-up lax period.
3. Adds are way too annoying as pop-ups.
Why are there pop up ads? This is how websites make money.
4. My hair gets itchy from using gel and I constantly itch it.
Why is does hair get itchy? Because the chemicals in the gel dry out causing an itching sensation on the scalp.
5. Random allergies for no reason.
Why do I have allergies? Certain flair ups occur when certain triggers are present.
6. Things are easy to lose and keep focus of, ETC. Business cards.
Why are things easy to lose? With so many gadgets we have, it is hard to stay accountable for everything.
7. Shoes smelling bad after weeks of having them.
Why do shoes smell? Materials for shoes are cheaper nowadays and aroma products are needed to change smell after use.
8. Gyms are very packed at a certain time of day.
Why are gyms packed? People seem to go to the gym after work instead of before.
9. Random itches distract people from work
Why do itches distract people? Can be the cause of not using lotion or not having bathed properly
10.  Gum loses flavor very quickly.
Why is gum flavorless after a couple minutes? Usually, cheaper gum has a very short flavor life.
11. Radio adds are longer than the actual music.
Why are there so many ads on radio stations? Radio stations are dying out and need more money from advertisements.
12. Have trouble falling asleep frequently.
Why do we have trouble falling asleep? The blue light on the phones have an effect on REM sleep
13. Bad drivers because of using phones on the road.
Why are there distracted drivers? People are so busy, they use their phones while commuting to and from work.
14. Busy road due to construction on 411.
Why are there busy times at 411? New roads are being built in order to counter the effects of poor road infrastructure.
15. Sun makes me too sweaty when outside during the summer, sweat makes me feel bad.
Why does the sun irritate us? The use of certain material in clothing can make you sweat more.
16. When I eat food that has a lot of sauce or ingredients it gives me anxiety because even if I don't spill it, I feel messy.
Why does food make me feel messy? Certain ingredients or sauces tend to have more water in them making them more prone to drip and get over your face.
17. Biting fingernails.
Why do we bite our nails? People need something to keep them stimulated.
18. Bugs on car windows.
Why do we have bugs on the car? Certain seasons of mating causes more bugs to migrate.
19. Dogs hair getting over my clothes when I walk them.
Why do dogs shed? Certain dogs have hair that is lighter than others and can gravitate towards clothes easier.
20. Itchy eyes throughout the day.
Why do eyes get itchy? Eyes need moisture or else will get irritated.
I am able to say that this exercise was extremely tough to do because you don't know about the issues until you actually do them. It takes observation and commitment to understand these "bugs".
